Copyright protection is given to work which falls as Literary, Dramatic, Artistic, Musical, Producers of Cinematograph films and Sound recordings. In India Software programme is also protected under Copyright.

D. Whether unpublished work can be registered?

Yes, both published and unpublished work can be registered under Copyright. If the work is published then, three copies of published work should be sent along with the application. If the work is unpublished then a copy of manuscript has to be sent along with the application.

E. Whether Computer Software programmes are registered?

Yes, Computer Software programme can be registered as Literary Work. The work includes Computer programmes, tables and compilations including Computer databases. The Source Code of the programme has to be supplied for the registration of the work.

F. Can the application for registration of Copyright be filed by the Applicant himself or only through an Attorney?
